KidSpace
Visit our cozy KidSpace, a wonderful hands-on place for families to read about and explore art.
Located on the first floor between the Robertshaw and Barclay Galleries, Kidspace is a fun and educational new area where children and their families can explore works of art together. Exhibitions include artwork from the permanent collection on display together with accompanying hands-on activities and a well-stocked reading corner.
Creative thinking and writing activities within the gallery will allow children to make artworks inspired by the pieces on view as well as learn to look at art more closely. Wall labels will spark discussion between parents and children about the artworks and what meanings and stories they might hold. Furry, friendly stuffed animals will be available for children to borrow to take around the museum, providing a friend with whom they can share the exhibitions. Kidspace activities are appropriate and fun for ages four and up.
